BlogAir To Vancouver.

Hi there, yes it's me, Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet superstar!  My human dad, Gary, is about to take a plane to Vancouver.  Okay, he's actually leaving on the morning of September 19.  I said goodbye to him yesterday, September 15.  From now and up until October 7, I will be staying with my human brother, Tristan and his girlfriend, Sue.  From the evening of Friday, October 7 until Sunday afternoon, October 9, I will be staying with Gary's ex wife because Sue and Tristan will be spending the weekend in Munich, Germany.  Gary arrives back on October 9.

This means that a soon as Gary gets back from Manchester airport in the taxi, he'll be getting into his car to come and get me.  I hope he remembers which side of the road to drive on.

While I'm pawing this pawst, I visualise Gary doing his final preparations for his trip to Canada.  I sensed how stressed he was because there was over three weeks of him wondering if he would even be allowed to board the plane.  He seems so much better now he knows that all is okay.

It's going to be a real challenge for him.  For my human dad has lots of anxiety and he's travelling on his own.  He hates travelling on his own.  I wish I could of gone with him.  Alas, the logistics would have been too much.
Then again, he is flying on the blogger's favourite airline, "BlogAir".  Hopefully, whatever blogger who ends up sitting beside him doesn't start going on and on and on about blog hops, blog fests or anything to do with the alphabark, um, alphabet!  Hopefully, whatever blogger who ends up sitting beside him doesn't go into acronym overdrive, such as, " I'm doing YA writing with an MG theme and my WIP is coming along real good!"  WTF!!?  ARF!
You might have realised that I have actually worked for BlogAir.  However, Penny the Pawlet has now retired.  Shame really because I could of taken Gary to Vancouver and had a brief stopover meeting his friends, family and of course, his adoring fans.  Yes, Gary's delusional.  We must humour him.

I will miss Gary and I know he will miss me.  It will be wonderful to see him when he gets back. Gary, if you do get onto a computer when you're in British Columbia, pawlease, pawlease, bring me back some delicious Canadian doggy treats!

You will note the comments section is switched off.  My paws need to pause.  Pawsitive wishes, Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet superstar!

BlogAir: The Mystery Flight.

When I got an email from BlogAir, the blogger's favourite airline, offering a free mystery flight, I couldn't resist.  Never mind some amazing alphabet challenge road trip, which can be found here: Who's Ready for the 4th Annual Post-Challenge Road Trip? The A to Z., this would be an air trip!

I received my free ticket and boarding pass in the post.  With great anticipation, I headed off to Upper Lower Piggy Bottom International Airport.  I checked in with only my carry-on luggage as stipulated.  No extra baggage required.  "Passengers for BlogAir mystery flight, please head to boarding gate one." stated the male voice over the loudspeaker.  Considering Upper Lower Piggy Bottom International Airport only has one boarding gate, it was easy to find.

I sat in my allocated seat by the window.  Predictably, my window seat had a great view of just the wing.  Somehow, seeing a wing put me at ease.  I was so hoping that somebody on the other side of the plane could also see a wing out their window.

I started talking to the lady sitting beside me.  "Are you excited about this mystery flight?" I asked her. "Oh yes!  I surely am!
Being on this mystery flight has given me some inspiration for April Fool's Day, 2015 and the entire month of April, 2015" she replied. "Really?  Dare I ask what that means?" I stated.

Then she started rambling on and on and on....

"A is for Airplane!
B is for BlogAir!
C is for Cabin Crew!
D is for Delta Airlines!
E is for easyJet!
F is for Fairchild FC-1, a braced-wing monoplane, circa 1926!
G is for......"

"What are you doing?" I asked.  "Just getting ready for next year's A to Z!" she responded.

BlogAir mystery flight went to several airports.  Finally, the plane was full.  I sat there and listened to a cacophony of confusing chatter.  A whole plane load of people mumbling on about the letters of the alphabet.  Time to put on the complimentary headphones.  Oh no, the alphabet song is playing over and over and over again, on the complimentary headphones...
"Attention please!  This is your pawlet speaking.  Penny the pawlet. On behalf on the entire crew, we hope you've enjoyed the BlogAir mystery flight.  We'll be landing at Blogbank International Airport within the next thirty minutes.  Thank you for flying BlogAir, the blogger's favourite airline."

We proceeded through customs at Blogbank International Airport. From there we were directed onto buses that would take us to our final mystery destination.

We entered a gigantic convention centre about a ten minute ride from the airport.  We all settled down in our seats.  Everybody around me was still ranting and raving about the alphabet!  Make it STOP!!!

A hushed silence and amazement came over the alphabet audience. Up on the stage was Penny the pawlet now addressing us as her alter ego, Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet superstar!

"Welcome my friends and thank you for being a part of the mystery which now will be revealed.  Welcome to "The Alphabark Challenge, 2014!" tribute ceremonies."   .

Blog Air Is Better Than Virgin On The Ridiculous Airlines.

A huge amount of folks were wondering about "Blog Air".  Zillions upon zillions asked me what's with this Blog Air?  So, because I'm either lazy, too busy searching for a clone or have run out of ideas, here's a past post that gives you an idea about Blog Air, the blogger's favourite airline.  If you've read this before, either ignore it, skim through it or learn the fine art of advanced thumb-twiddling.

Ah yes, Blog Air, in its latest attempt to diversify, to try new markets in the blogging sky, Blog Air has come up with the charter flight.  All seats are in the same class.  No distinction, just a no-frills experience where all bloggers are treated the same.

And so, what happened next on the inaugural flight of Blog Air charter?  Thought you'd never ask.  Due to some misunderstanding, some bloggers were caught unaware and had no idea that it was a charter flight.  Chaos and confusion ensued.

A self-obsessed, self-promoting blogger ended up sitting beside a shy, humble and oh so unassuming blogger. The self-obsessed, self-promoting blogger went on and on and on...about how great they were and how important it was to check out the links on their blog that linked back to all their other fabulous, must read postings. The shy, humble and oh so unassuming blogger, fell asleep. This was an outrage!  How dare anybody not pay attention to them!

An alleged comedy blogger ended up sitting beside a sarcastic blogger. The alleged comedy blogger proceeded to bore the hell out of the sarcastic blogger with their so-called comedy.  "Hey friend!  My comedy has been compared to that comedy 'genius', Russell Brand!"  "Oh?'" replied the sarcastic blogger, "I'm thrilled for you to be compared to Russell Brand, a comedy genius who looks like a reject from a "Pirates of the Caribbean" audition.   Well done, you!"

And horror of horrors. A crude dude blogger who insisted that almost every other word was some sort of Anglo-Saxon derivative, was sitting beside one of those most exciting of bloggers. Yes, the crude dude blogger was sitting beside a lady blogger who wrote such incredibly riveting stuff about how she, the hubby and the kids went to McDonald's and had an extra portion of fries!  She starting telling the crude dude blogger about the thrilling, adventurous life she led.  She even mentioned that her next posting was about how she put some extra chocolate chips in the cookies!  The crude dude blogger said, "That's f**king awesome!  F**king fantasy stuff!  I bet you and that hubby of yours had some right f**king orgies in your kitchen!"  To which she replied, "No, not really, but he just loves to add to some extra cream to my coffee."

And then there was the 'extremely popular' blogger with well over a zillion followers, sitting beside a blogger with very few followers. Now then, the blogger with over a zillion followers had only a couple of comments on their latest posting. This same blogger's icon could be seen all over the blogging world and they would leave amazingly sincere comments stating, "Great post!  Thanks for sharing.  I follow your blog!" The blogger with very few followers had several comments on their site. This might just tell you something.

Anyway, the blogger with over a zillion followers discovered that the blogger beside them had only a few followers. The zillion followers blogger yelled over at the flight attendant.  "Excuse me, this must be a mistake! Get me a seat next to somebody who is popular like me!"  "Sorry sir", stated the flight attendant, "This is a charter flight and all are seated equally. However, the exit door can be found just over there. Although you'll find that the first step is a 37,000 foot drop into the shark-infested sea below.

Aha!  Look who's the pawlet, sorry, who's the pilot of Blog Air charter flight. Yes indeed, it's Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest airline pilot!

"Hello bloggers, this is your captain speaking. Captain Penny the pawlet . Welcome to this charter flight on the blogger's favourite airline, Blog Air. We're cruising at an altitude of 37,000 feet and expect to arrive at 'Blogland' international airport at approximately six P.M., local time
.
Please enjoy your flight and remember to rejoice in the diversity of blogging. All different, all equal in a sharing, caring community. Thank you for flying Blog Air"

Blog Air Is Flying Over There. Over Where?

While sitting in the cargo hold with Fred the iguana and Marvin the kiwi, I anxiously waited my arrival at the site that I was going to guest post.

Yes, Blog Air, after being in a holding pattern, after experiencing some turbulence, my guest posting has landed at the lovely and affable Damyanti's blog.  The captain, Penny the Pawlet, switched on the "unfasten your seatbelt" sign.  If you wish to note my second attempt at a proper landing on her site, you will discover it here at the arrivals section : Would You Join Gary Pennick's Blogger's Got Talent?

Damyanti is a kind, caring lady.  If you've never been to her site, heaven forbid, I would kindly ask you to check out the site and her other postings.  Thank you.

Thank you, Damyanti, for allowing me to guest post again.  A somewhat different posting.  It could be considered cynical, sarcastic, even!  I know, I know, hard to believe I could be like that.

I want anybody who graces me by reading my tongue-in-cheek posts, if you haven't figured it out,  my satirising blog hops and blog fests and the challenge about the alphabet that goes on and and on and on,  is actually ironic promotion for those who consider participating.  All I ask is that those who do participate don't put too much pressure on themselves.  Have fun and embrace the ideals of positive interaction.

In other news and just for the heck of it and fill up more space on here, I leave you with this.
A multiple choice question about Sally Field.

A: You like her.
  B: You hate her.
C: You don't care either way.
             D: Who is Sally Field?
            E: Nun of the above.

Blogfest? You Jest?

Here is a list of blogfest ideas.  Of course, they probably wont happen because they don't involve the alphabet.

The "BlogPest BlogFest" : Yes, I suggested this in a previous posting.  Thanks to the overwhelming response to this idea, it has made me give it some serious thought.  Just imagine a wonderful blogfest where we did a posting on a blogger that aggravates us so much that we would much rather go to a Justin Bieber concert than continuing reading their crap. This blogfest, however, could seriously backfire as it brings loads of visits and new 'followers' to the blogger that aggravates us.

The "Drive-By Blogger Blogfest" : This would be a blogfest where you visit a site just the once and leave some comment that has nothing to do with the posting.  All you do is mention that you are now 'following' their blog. What you are really trying to do is get them to follow your blog so as to add to your blog 'followers'.

The "Blatant Self-Promoting, Self-Obsessed Blogfest" : Rather similar to the blogfest mentioned above.  What you do in this blogfest is demonstrate the fine art of self-promoting and being self-obsessed.  Here's an example sample of what you might write in such a blogfest :  "You must read my latest posting that ties in nicely with my other posting about the upcoming posting that tells you about my posting that I posted last month about how great my postings are!   You know, my blog is a very important place.  A meeting place where other lesser bloggers can come and note just how wonderful I am!"

The "Blogbuster Movie Blogfest" : For those of us who haven't actually had our exciting lives made into a blockbuster movie, we could do a fantasy posting about a must see film about ourselves.

The "New Kids on the Blog" blogfest : This one might actually work. Although still no mention of the alphabet.  This would be a blogfest bringing further awareness of new bloggers.  A sort of a big hello from this amazingly caring community.

The "Captain's Blog: Stardate 2013.2" blogfest : This would be blogfest for all those with this fascination for all things spaced out.  Make it so.

The "DogFest BlogFest" : This would be a blogfest where we show our appreciation for our doggy friends such as, oh I don't know, Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet superstar!

The "Cynical Blogfest" : This would be a blogfest about stating that blogfests are a way of drawing attention to the creators of blogfests and a darned good way to self-promote, plug their latest novel or try to sell you timeshare properties in fashionable Stoke on Trent.

The "Groundblog Day" blogfest : Wouldn't it be great for a blogfest?  This would be where we repeat the same paragraph, over and over again.  Yes indeed, a paragraph that repeats over and over and over...If you get what I mean?

Wouldn't it be great for a blogfest?  This would be where we repeat the same paragraph, over and over again.  Yes indeed, a paragraph that repeats over and over and over...If you get what I mean?

Wouldn't it be great for a blogfest?  This would be where we repeat the same paragraph, over and over again.  Yes indeed, a paragraph that repeats over and over and over...If you get what I mean?

Blogger's Got Talent.

The excitement, the expectation, is building up to a crescendo of hysterical frenzy, as the finalists in Blogger's Got Talent are being flown in from secret locations all over the world.  Naturally, the finalists are being flown in on the Blogger's favourite airline, 'Blog Air' and will be picked up at Blog Hope airport.
The studio audience at the finals are settling into their seats at the Blodeon Theatre in beautiful downtown Blogbank, just a  few miles northeast of Bloggywood.   A hush falls all around the audience as the curtain raises and the lights come up.

The crowd they cheer.  Oh how they cheer.  The music starts and the three judges are introduced.  Judge number one, Bloggo Baggins, a major star who became famous in the Bloggit and Lord of the Blings.  Judge number two, Joe Bloggs, who does a blog using his first name, Joe.  And judge number three, Sharon Blogbourne, famous for being the wife of the dude who's the lead singer of Blog Sabbath.
Being the final show, the judges have had their say and now it's time for the five finalists to give one last performance before the public gets to vote for the winner.

Blogger number one, in the category, Sarcastic Blogger,  "Hi, my blog is called, much to your surprise, "The Sarcastic Blog".  "I cannot even begin to describe how thrilled I am to see all you wonderful, sincere people out there in the audience.  There are no suitable words to explain my joy at knowing how much you like me!"

Blogger number two, in the category, Satirical Blogger, "I keep hearing about the 'big bank theory'.  The theory goes something like this.  First of all, become the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of a big bank and get rewarded for incompetence, whilst your millions of loyal customers are thinking about such trivial things like, will they have a roof over their heads, a job tomorrow, or food on the table.  And to top it off, as a CEO, you will get a nice hefty bonus at the end of the year, for a job not well done.  Wow, what a great job!  A bonus for buffoonery.  An incentive for idiocy.  And when you become the epitome of incompetence, it gets even better.  Apparently you morph into a 'Fat Cat'.  And who wouldn't like the idea of becoming a 'Fat Cat'?  Oh,  I almost forget the name of my blog.  Too busy contemplating 'civil war' and 'military intelligence'."   The name of my blog is, "Cat on a Hot Tin Spoof".

Blogger number three, in the category, Comedy Blogger, Hi, my blog is called, "I'm Incredibly Funny and You're Not!"  "Maybe you can relate to this.  You get on the bus.  That would be the second bus after the first bus driver looked at you and continued on.  You stood there, as the first bus drove by you, with your arms waving frantically, praying for a miracle and hoping that the driver will have a change of heart and stop.  But alas no, instead you get drenched by the worst downpour known in twenty years.
When you get on the bus that kindly stopped for you, the driver decides it would be hilarious to accelerate and brake really quickly.  That way, you  lose your balance, you wipe out, fall into the lap of an old lady and proceed to dump two bags of groceries, which were full of eggs, a variety of sticky syrups and fresh sardines, all over her fake fox fur coat."

Blogger number four, in the category, Poetry Blogger, "Greetings wonderful people.  My blog is called, "Edgar Allan Poem".   "Here is an old example of one of my finest poetic works, There was a young fella' named Skinner, who took a young lady to dinner.  At quarter to nine, they began to dine, at quarter to ten it was in her.  Not Skinner, the dinner.  Skinner was in her before the dinner!"   "I thank you from the very depths of my radiantly glowing soul."

The next category was a combined category.  For the two categories are rather similar.

Blogger number five, in the combined category, Self-Obsessed, Self-Promoting Blogger,  "Hello people.  The name of my blog is titled, "The Only Blog you Need To Read!"   "Now then, here's how it is.  You will read my blog and you will realise just how wonderful I am.  You, the Blogger Sheep aka Bleeps, will heap praise and adulation on me.  I will ignore you and not acknowledge your comments.  I will never grace you with commenting on your site.  I would not lower myself to do such a thing.  When you visit my must read site, you will note the links in my postings that link back to other postings that I have written which also have more links to postings that I have written.  Soon, very soon, I may hold a contest on my site that gives you the opportunity to adore me even more.  If that's possible.  The one with the most complimentary response to my contest will be allowed to purchase my book titled, "The Only Blog you Need To Read!", at a slightly reduced cost.   Anyway, time for you people to do the right thing and vote for me!"

There you have it, the five finalists in Blogger's Got Talent.  I realise that there are other categories.  However, the television production company needed to get it down to just five contenders.  Here's a quick refresher and then you, the public, can vote to decide the winner.

Blogger number one is in the category, Sarcastic Blogger is, "The Sarcastic Blog"
Blogger number two is in the category,  Satirical Blogger is, "Cat on a Hot Tin Spoof"
Blogger number three is in the category, Comedy Blogger is, "I'm Incredibly Funny and You're Not!"
Blogger number four is in the category, Poetry Blogger is, "Edgar Allan Poem"
Blogger number five is in the combined category, Self Obsessed, Self-Promoting Blogger is, "The Only Blog you Need To Read!"

I wonder who you would vote for?  Or maybe, you would like to mention some other categories that didn't make the final of, Blogger's Got Talent.  I can think of a few more.

Blog Air: Destination Vancouver.

On Saturday, May 7, I shall be heading for Manchester airport to fly on the blogger's favourite airline, yes indeed, I'm flying on 'Blog Air', destination, Vancouver, Canada, eh.
I've no doubt that someone will notice me with my luggage outside my house and comment, 'Going somewhere nice?'  Why the f**k do folks say that?  I will probably reply, 'Going somewhere nice?   Of course not!  Why the f**k would I go somewhere nice when I can go on a world tour and visit the best sewage treatment plants on the planet!'
And where oh where shall I be sitting on 'Blog Air': destination Vancouver?  Will I be sitting with the self-obsessed bloggers?  Nope.   Will I be amongst the self-promoting bloggers?  Definitely not.  Will I be in the section of the plane where the 'hey lets have yet another competition on my site, because I love y'all and it has nothing whatsoever to do with me trying to get more bloggers to follow my blog, bloggers'?  Of course not.  Will I be sitting beside a blogger who links into every blogging site they see and has like a thousand 'followers' after a week, because other bloggers notice their icon and thus link into their blog?  Umm, no way.  Will I be sitting amongst the blogger 'sheep' or as I call them 'Bleeps', who go to sites and heap praise and worship the self-obsessed blogger?  No chance.
I suppose, based on the above paragraph, you might assume that I would be sitting in the cynical bloggers section of Blog Air.  Me cynical?  Never!  Me sarcastic?  Never been sarcastic in my life, ever!
No, this shy and humble blogger on his unassuming site, will be down in the cargo hold.  Down there with the exotic animals, an iguana named Fred, a kiwi named Marvin and a couple of bloggers who do nothing but blogs about cats.  Help me!
Of course, piloting the Blog Air plane is the true star of this blog, yep, Penny the Jack Russell pilot dog and modest internet star.

Ah yes, I can imagine the following announcement on Blog Air,  'This is your captain speaking.  Captain Penny.  Would you please fasten your seat belts.  We are experiencing turbulence in the self-obsessed section of the plane.  Apparently too many Bleeps are hanging around the self-obsessed bloggers and their excitement is causing the plane to shake.....'
And, upon my return from Vancouver?  I've absolutely no doubt that some idiot will say, 'So, how did you find Vancouver?'   Why the f**k do folks say that?  Of course, I will reply, 'You stupid f**ker!  I didn't find Vancouver.  I left that up to the pilot.  Penny the Jack Russell pilot dog and modest internet star.'

Blog Air.

In theme with my previous posting in regards to specialised airlines, I present to you an airline that exclusively caters to bloggers.  Introducing, 'Blog Air'.

A while back I did a posting titled, Big Blogger , which discussed the concept of bloggers with a diversity of talents, all vying to be the ultimate winner in a 'reality' television show.  This is a concept that really should be put forward to a television network.  So just how would we get the bloggers to such a show?  Of course, we could fly them on Blog Air.

Ah, I can just visualise the scene.  One by one, the bloggers board Blog Air.  'Um, hello flight attendant, there must be a mistake with my seat location!  I have over a thousand 'followers' and I should be in first class and not stuck in economy with all those insignificant bloggers!'  The blogger waiting to board behind the 'popular' blogger, states, 'Oh yeah and just how many of those followers actually read your stuff?  I would rather a small amount of followers that I interacted with, rather than your misleading total.  In fact, I have fifty followers and I certainly don't think that makes you twenty times better than me!'  And thus the festivities of the bloggers on Blog Air, begins in earnest.

I'm on Blog Air and yes, I'm in the economy section.  I listen to the chatter of the bloggers in the seats nearby and up in the first class section.  'You know, my blog is a very important place.  A meeting place where other lesser bloggers can come and note just how wonderful I am!'  And thus, I realised I was listening to the self-obsessed blogger.  'You must read my latest posting that ties in nicely with my other posting about the upcoming posting that tells you about my posting that I posted last month about how great my postings are!'  Hmmm, so that would be the self-promoting blogger.  And then I overhear the 'comedy' blogger who likes to repeat the same jokes over and over and over and....  'Hey, hey, I'm more off-the-wall than Humpty Dumpty!  Fred Flintstone meet Homer Simpson, 'Yabba dabba....Doh!'   'Oh yeah, like you are sooo funny', I think to myself.

So I sit there, quietly listening to the various bloggers, in all their diversity.  I hear the crude one telling how 'fucking awesome they are!'  I listen to the serious ones, the shy ones, the poetic ones, the cynical ones and the ones who do variety.  I hear one blogger describe a situation that could take but a few sentences, yet drags it out for what seems an eternity.  And I realise this is the blogger who writes blogs that are just too damn long.  Which makes me realise, if I don't stop soon, this posting will be skimmed through, or ignored, or a couple of key words picked up on, in order to make a comment.

Yes, I sit here on Blog Air in economy class and I stare out the window.  Thoughts drift into my mind, that we, within the great blogging community, are all different, all equal.  Let us embrace the diversity and truly be here for each other.  I then see this one blogger swaggering down the aisle with a toilet plunger on their head.  'Hey, look at me!  I'm a unicorn!'  So, that would be the surreal blogger.
