I know, you're probably thinking that I, yes I, Penny the Jack Russell and modest internet star, has received yet another award. And you, whether you be a human, a dog, a cat, a rabbit, or even a wayward iguana, would be correct.
My pawesomely pawlite pal over in the U.S.of A., Brown Dog, better known by the name, Hawk, has bestowed the "One Lovely Blog Award" to me. If for some reason, y'all haven't visited Hawk's site, y'all can discover this wonderful blog right here---------> browndog cbr
I want to thank you kindly, Hawk, for considering me for an award that exemplifies appreciation for fellow bloggers.
And in the spirit of this award, I shall now forward it onto seven notable bloggers. I would add that these bloggers do not have to acknowledge this award and may do with it as they seem fit. I have the great honour, along with my human, of interacting with many bloggers. We try to share out these awards and hopefully bring further recognition to those you may not be aware of.
1: Chaos and Kairos Chris, the lady that writes this superbly written blog, is a highly recommended read. I do hope you go and check her out.
2: R. Jacob Post Ray, the writer of this clever and varied blog, has graced us with some terrific interaction. Ray's blog is well worth a visit.
3: Count Sneaky's Journal "Moral and refined, unique, and eccentric entertainment for ladies and gentlemen of all ages..." A great place to visit for amusing and thought provoking musings.
4: THE SNEE If you want satire and surreality, then this is the site for you. A very clever blog with some underlying truths that reflect the bizarre world we live in.
5: Views From the Bald Patch Ian, the writer of this fine blog, writes entertaining and varied articles. I highly recommend Ian's site,
6: Working 2 Write Diane's blog resonates with the passion and the inspiration of a lady who truly embraces the magic of the written word. I hope you find some time to visit her insightful and informative site.
7: A Day in the Life And my human Gary knows the writer of this site, David, very well. David has an important message to tell. A message that wishes to convey it's about time that the unfair stigma that still
surrounds mental health issues, needs to be eradicated. I would ask, if you have never been to David's thoughtful and profound blog, to kindly do so.
So there you go, my friend. Whether you be human, a dog, a cat, a rabbit, or even a wayward iguana, I wish for you a peaceful day. Please check out the worthy recipients of this meaningful award. And once again, thanks Hawk. Y'all is one mighty fine dog. Oh my goodness, I seem to being saying 'y'all' a lot, y'all.
Pawsitive wishes and doggy kisses, Penny xx
Y'all are so deserving of this award, and there'd be no one (be they dog, cat, rabbit or even wayward iguana) who is more in a position to know a great blog by a dog than Hawk. Y'all enjoy your award, those are some awesome blogs you listed! Congrats and concats, Penny!

ReplyDeleteHey Grumpy Bulldog,
ReplyDeleteI'm loving your style! You can join my human as he cynically attacks the 'A to Z Blogging Challenge!'
Glad to see you are getting the recognition you have been craving so badly and gosh, you might get a zillion 'folowers' like those self-promoters who set up those gosh darn fun blogging contests!
Arf! Arf!
Hi Delores,
ReplyDeleteWhy thank you. I'm getting so embarrassed receiving all these awards :)
Pawsitive wishes and doggy kisses, Penny xx
Well done, Penny and well deserved. I am now off to check out those blogs x
ReplyDeleteDear Penny (and Gary),
ReplyDeleteThank you for passing on this award to my humble self, and for (yet again!) plugging my own little blog. I do hope that some will find interest in it, but I do realise that mental health may not be everyone's cup of tea. Still, as you and I know, it is important to try to dismantle the stigma surrounding such issues, and I can only hope that my site (and also yours) go some way to doing this.
Thanks once again, Penny, and great, big ARF!, your way,
David.
Another award. - well done! And very well deserved human or animal of course :)
ReplyDeleteCongratualtions to you for receiving this award. You certainly are worthy of it.
ReplyDeleteAlso congratualtions to the other bloggers for receiving this award from you. I will go back and check all those blogs in time. Had my share of worries with my grandson being sick. He is better now, I will be able to get back to writing and more importantly reading.
The dog at the key board is cute.
Congratulations Penny and your human pet, Gary! It was truly lovely of you to bestow the lovely blog award onto THE SNEE (especially since this surreal blog has been in hibernation mode this winter. But now, as the skunks are scenting our early spring world, and the sun is higher in the sky....THE SNEE is back! Thank you so much for your plug. My peacock plumage is fanning itself as we speak.
ReplyDeleteTruly...Thanks friend. Woof!
Awww gorgeous Penny!! You deserve plenty of awards for being such a super duper STAR! Yay! take care
ReplyDeletex
Congrats on yet another award, Penny! You do get around. I'll go check out your new friends.
ReplyDeleteAnd one lovely do you are Penny! Your human is not half bad, either, I might add.
ReplyDeleteHello Penny, TJRDAMIS. Another award? You'll have to ask Gary for a bigger room to hang them all up in!
ReplyDeleteWell done, and thank you for thinking of me too.
Oh, and Gypsy says "Hi."
OK, she actually said "Woof," but I think I know what she meant.
Oh Penny what an honour, I shall treasure this award. You deserve the title too, I bet Gary is very proud of you. Many thanks and look forward to more posts by your good woofy self. Love the photo!
ReplyDeleteLots of love and waggy kisses Diane x
Congrats on such a lovely award and to all the awardees. I wrote a special Limerick for Penny:
ReplyDeleteThere was a small doggy named Penny
Who had never met Evelyn Glennie
While her percussive old barks
Provoked many remarks
She could carry a tune good as any.
See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evelyn_Glennie)
Speaking as a cat, I thank you Penny for including us in your round up of your readers.
ReplyDeleteYour 'master' Gary must be really proud of one more award to laden his creaking mantelpiece!
I am going to inform my tame human that he should check out these seven sites!
Ginger’s owner, Bazza’s Blog ‘To Discover Ice’
Congratulations, Penny. A well deserved award, indeed. Your dawgness has been rubbing off on your servant Gary. Have you noticed? He's become quite cuddly and obedient lately. And I hear the house training issue is going well. I'm so glad. Gary is a wonderful dear man, and you deserve all the credit, Penny. Nice job.
ReplyDeleteHey Teresa,
ReplyDeleteThanks for that and I'm glad you are checking out those other blogs. They are like really nifty neato :)
Pawsitive wishes and doggy kisses, Penny xx
Dear David,
ReplyDeleteMy esteemed human pal, it was my honour to forward on such a gosh darn lovely award to your noble self. I'm hoping your blog gets the recognition it deserves.
I'm sure that it will get the awareness it merits. When you think about it, mental health, really is, everyone's cup of tea. We, including us in the animal world, are all in this together. You have an important message and warrants further sharing.
David, Gary's site, thankfully kept going by my doggy thoughts and your site, shall continue to remove the unfair stigma that still surrounds mental health concerns.
Pawsitive wishes and doggy kisses, Penny xx
Hi Jenny,
ReplyDeleteOh yes, another award for this modest internet star! :) Thanks for thinking it's well deserved. Heck, even the human I allow to live with me, sort of deserves a minuscule amount of recognition...
Pawsitive wishes and doggy kisses, your way, Penny xx
Hi Munir,
ReplyDeleteWhy thank you. And I just wanted to say what a pleasure it has been to start interacting with you.
That will be nice when you have the chance to check out those who have received the award. You have and quite understandably, priorities with the well being of your loved ones. Relieved your grandson is better. Look forward to when you have the time to get back to your writing and reading.
Thanks again and the photo of me is proof that I actually do my own dog blogs. Arf, arf!:)
Pawsitive wishes and doggy kisses, Penny xx
Yay THE SNEE,
ReplyDeleteThank you, Rebecca and my human pet Gary, is grateful that I allow him to continue to live with me :)
You were very welcome for such a lovely award. And we hope that THE SNEE'S hibernation has almost come to an end....and with the sun higher in the sky, it appears that you have truly woken up.
You may now do a blog about peacocks. Just think what fun you could have with the word, 'peacock'!
Pawsitive wishes and doggy kisses, Penny xx
Hi Old Kitty,

Pawsitive wishes and doggy kisses, Penny xx
Hello Ian,
ReplyDeleteWhy naturally, another award for shy, unassuming me, yes me, Penny TJRDAMIS! Actually, I may just kick Gary out of his bedroom and use it to hang up more of my awards. The living room and the kitchen walls are full :)
You were welcome for the award and we hope all is well with you and your loved ones on Vancouver Island.
"Hi" and um "Arf!" to Gypsy.
Pawsitive wishes and doggy kisses, Penny xx

Hi Madeleine,
ReplyDeleteHey, thanks for the congrats. And thank you for noting the awardees.
Wow, how neat, a special Limerick in honour of me, yes me, Penny, the oh so modest internet dog type star :)
Evelyn Glennie
Not known by Penny
But an amazing percussionist
Admired by many
Hey, not a bad effort by me. Poetic dog, it's plain to see.
Pawsitive wishes and doggy kisses, Penny xx
Um hello....is that you Ginger?
ReplyDeleteAnd my deluded 'master', Gary, used to have a creaking mantelpiece. Yet thanks to modern medicine and a special ointment, he's much better now...
Ah yes, tell that lovable human of yours to go and check those lovable sites.
Nice to know you are as starstruck as ever, Ginger.
Pawsitive wishes and doggy kisses, Penny xx
Hi Joylene,
ReplyDeleteThank you for the congratulations. You would be correct for it was a well deserved award.
My servant Gary has been much better behaved lately. I think it's partly due to the fact he has come to the realisation that he will never be able to write as well as me. He has become humble and quiet.
Although, I must say that trying to train a house has proved most challenging. Arf! Arf! Get it?
Actually, he is a pretty nice dude and I'm grateful for living in a warm, safe environment. It inspires my writing :)
Pawsitive wishes and doggy kisses, Penny xx
This award coming from the pen of Penny has been well received by the pack of dogs that allow me to live here.

Hi Hilary,
ReplyDeleteI thank you and it sure is a lovely looking award. Hope you will check out the links to the blogs you might not be aware of. I believe they are worthy of more recognition.
The house is warm and the snow is beginning to melt. Must be very careful in case it starts to freeze over.
Thanks Hilary.
Pawsitive wishes and doggy kisses, Penny xx
You had me at your snarky comment at the A-Z blog, and now that I've poked around your house, I'm a total goner. Love your sarcastic wit, your adorable dog, and your passion for ridding the world of ignorance about mental health.
ReplyDeleteI have major depressive disorder complicated by chronic regional pain syndrome...and will be eternally grateful to the physician's assistant who handed me a box of kleenex (in 2001) and said, "Honey, you're not doing anything wrong! Do you know that you're suffering from depression ?" Still on the journey toward med-free mental health, but that's probably an unrealistic goal for me and my daily cocktail of pills. And that's OK. I'm OK. I also can't sing, or follow directions without a map, but there are ways to cope :-)

Congrats to all the award winners. That Penny- she knows her stuff! (And I hear, Gary does, too. At least that's what Penny told me. : )
ReplyDeleteThere're some good bloggers in that list!
ReplyDeleteY'all.
:-)
Pearl
Hi Tina,
ReplyDeleteMe leave a snarky comment over at the 'A to Z Blogging Challenge 2012'? Cannot believe I would do such a thing :)
Tina, that's very kind and flattering that you would note that this blog is really about ridding the unfair stigma still attached to mental health concerns. Indeed, we can clearly demonstrate that our mental health issues are just a small part of who we are.
Just want you to know, despite my occasional sarcastic, cynical moan about the blogging world, that I'm firm believer that we can all be here for each other.
Your transparency and heartfelt honesty is to be admired. And despite your concerns, you embrace a better, more positive way. In fact, I'm sure you will agree that it is better to live life with realistic positive anticipation, rather than, negative speculation.
I have tried to learn to live with, rather than, suffer from my mental health issues.
Yes, we have to realise realistic, achievable goals. On that journey along the road to a happier life, we fall into the occasional pothole. Somehow, we pull ourselves out and carry on.
Much respect and empathy to you, Tina. Be assured, along with so many amongst us within the diverse and powerful blogging community, you will have ongoing support and encouragement. We learn to seek out the positive resources that are conducive to our mental health well being.
In kindness and hope, your way, Gary :)
Hi Samantha.
ReplyDeleteThank you for congratulating all the award winners. They are really good bloggers and I would love to see them get further recognition.
Ah Gary, yes Gary, the human who is so grateful I allow him to live with me. He does know his stuff. Well, at least he's getting better at knowing his stuff. Thanks to me, yes me, Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet star!
Pawsitive wishes and doggy kisses, Penny xx
Hi Pearl,
ReplyDeletePaw sure. There're some good bloggers in that there type list n' stuff...y'all :)
Pawsitive wishes and doggy kisses, Penny xx
Thanks for the pawsitive wishes and doggie kisses and of course the poetic reply.
ReplyDeleteHey Madeleine,
ReplyDeleteYou're most pawsitively welcome for the doggy kisses and my pawetic reply.
I am the dog
Who likes to blog....
Congrats on the award! Gary, if you're reading this (I know Penny is, of course, because 93.3% of all canines can read), I just want ya to know n' stuff you deserve the recognition and I've always admired you for your generosity in helping to give recognition to others in the blogging community.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could say I will definitely visit each recipient of the award you have chosen, but this time around, this might prove to be a challenge I can't accomplish due to outside factors going on. But I'll do my best, dude. My life is a real work in progress, nowadays, but I can see a little light at the end of the tunnel. Hawk sounds like a dandy blogger- as do the rest. You give great, concise descriptions of each writer and their blog. Have a happy day, y'all! :)
Hi Kelly,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your very kind congrats, Kelly :) If Gary behaves, I will let him read your comment, later on.
I do try to give recognition to bloggers who may have not got the attention I think they merit. Yes, instead of handing on awards to some of those insincere, 'popular' bloggers, where, if they even bothered to acknowledge the award, I would get a lot more bloggers noticing me, I'd much rather pass on the majority of awards to those other kind and notable writers.
I understand what a trying and traumatic time it has been for you and your loved ones. That's why you going to so much effort to leave a comment is even more appreciated. I know you will, time allowing, check out those awardees you are not familiar with. Most importantly, is that you have a bit of peace and positivity in your life. And when you are ready, my human friend, you will be finding the inner resolve and focus to entertain and give serious meaning to us, via your clever and diverse blog.
Pawsitive wishes and doggy kisses, Penny xx
