One Lovely Dog.

I know, you're probably thinking that I, yes I, Penny the Jack Russell and modest internet star, has received yet another award.   And you, whether you be a human, a dog, a cat, a rabbit, or even a wayward iguana, would be correct.
My pawesomely pawlite pal over in the U.S.of A., Brown Dog, better known by the name, Hawk, has bestowed the "One Lovely Blog Award" to me.  If for some reason, y'all haven't visited Hawk's site, y'all can discover this wonderful blog right here---------> browndog cbr
I want to thank you kindly, Hawk, for considering me for an award that exemplifies appreciation for fellow bloggers.
And in the spirit of this award, I shall now forward it onto seven notable bloggers.  I would add that these bloggers do not have to acknowledge this award and may do with it as they seem fit.  I have the great honour, along with my human, of interacting with many bloggers.   We try to share out these awards and hopefully bring further recognition to those you may not be aware of.

1:  Chaos and Kairos   Chris, the lady that writes this superbly written blog, is a highly recommended read.  I do hope you go and check her out.
2:  R. Jacob Post    Ray, the writer of this clever and varied blog, has graced us with some terrific interaction.   Ray's blog is well worth a visit.
3:  Count Sneaky's Journal    "Moral and refined, unique, and eccentric entertainment for ladies and gentlemen of all ages..."   A great place to visit for amusing and thought provoking musings.
4:  THE SNEE    If you want satire and surreality, then this is the site for you.   A very clever blog with some underlying truths that reflect the bizarre world we live in.
5:   Views From the Bald Patch    Ian, the writer of this fine blog, writes entertaining and varied articles.  I highly recommend Ian's site,
6:   Working 2 Write   Diane's blog resonates with the passion and the inspiration of a lady who truly embraces the magic of the written word.  I hope you find some time to visit her insightful and informative site.
7:   A Day in the Life    And my human Gary knows the writer of this site, David, very well.  David has an important message to tell.   A message that wishes to convey it's about time that the unfair stigma that still
surrounds mental health issues, needs to be eradicated.  I would ask, if you have never been to David's thoughtful and profound blog, to kindly do so.

So there you go, my friend.  Whether you be human, a dog, a cat, a rabbit, or even a wayward iguana, I wish for you a peaceful day.   Please check out the worthy recipients of this meaningful award.   And once again, thanks Hawk.   Y'all is one mighty fine dog.   Oh my goodness, I seem to being saying 'y'all' a lot, y'all.
Pawsitive wishes and doggy kisses, Penny xx

  8. Dear Penny (and Gary),
Thank you for passing on this award to my humble self, and for (yet again!) plugging my own little blog. I do hope that some will find interest in it, but I do realise that mental health may not be everyone's cup of tea. Still, as you and I know, it is important to try to dismantle the stigma surrounding such issues, and I can only hope that my site (and also yours) go some way to doing this.
Thanks once again, Penny, and great, big ARF!, your way,
    David.

  10. Congratualtions to you for receiving this award. You certainly are worthy of it.
Also congratualtions to the other bloggers for receiving this award from you. I will go back and check all those blogs in time. Had my share of worries with my grandson being sick. He is better now, I will be able to get back to writing and more importantly reading.
The dog at the key board is cute.

  11. Congratulations Penny and your human pet, Gary! It was truly lovely of you to bestow the lovely blog award onto THE SNEE (especially since this surreal blog has been in hibernation mode this winter. But now, as the skunks are scenting our early spring world, and the sun is higher in the sky....THE SNEE is back! Thank you so much for your plug. My peacock plumage is fanning itself as we speak.
    Truly...Thanks friend. Woof!

  17. Congrats on such a lovely award and to all the awardees. I wrote a special Limerick for Penny:

There was a small doggy named Penny
Who had never met Evelyn Glennie
    While her percussive old barks
    Provoked many remarks
She could carry a tune good as any.

  21. Dear David,
My esteemed human pal, it was my honour to forward on such a gosh darn lovely award to your noble self. I'm hoping your blog gets the recognition it deserves.
I'm sure that it will get the awareness it merits. When you think about it, mental health, really is, everyone's cup of tea. We, including us in the animal world, are all in this together. You have an important message and warrants further sharing.
David, Gary's site, thankfully kept going by my doggy thoughts and your site, shall continue to remove the unfair stigma that still surrounds mental health concerns.

  32. Hi Joylene,
Thank you for the congratulations. You would be correct for it was a well deserved award.
My servant Gary has been much better behaved lately. I think it's partly due to the fact he has come to the realisation that he will never be able to write as well as me. He has become humble and quiet.
Although, I must say that trying to train a house has proved most challenging. Arf! Arf! Get it?
Actually, he is a pretty nice dude and I'm grateful for living in a warm, safe environment. It inspires my writing :)

  39. You had me at your snarky comment at the A-Z blog, and now that I've poked around your house, I'm a total goner. Love your sarcastic wit, your adorable dog, and your passion for ridding the world of ignorance about mental health.
I have major depressive disorder complicated by chronic regional pain syndrome...and will be eternally grateful to the physician's assistant who handed me a box of kleenex (in 2001) and said, "Honey, you're not doing anything wrong! Do you know that you're suffering from depression ?" Still on the journey toward med-free mental health, but that's probably an unrealistic goal for me and my daily cocktail of pills. And that's OK. I'm OK. I also can't sing, or follow directions without a map, but there are ways to cope :-)

  42. Hi Tina,
Me leave a snarky comment over at the 'A to Z Blogging Challenge 2012'? Cannot believe I would do such a thing :)
Tina, that's very kind and flattering that you would note that this blog is really about ridding the unfair stigma still attached to mental health concerns. Indeed, we can clearly demonstrate that our mental health issues are just a small part of who we are.
Just want you to know, despite my occasional sarcastic, cynical moan about the blogging world, that I'm firm believer that we can all be here for each other.
Your transparency and heartfelt honesty is to be admired. And despite your concerns, you embrace a better, more positive way. In fact, I'm sure you will agree that it is better to live life with realistic positive anticipation, rather than, negative speculation.
I have tried to learn to live with, rather than, suffer from my mental health issues.
Yes, we have to realise realistic, achievable goals. On that journey along the road to a happier life, we fall into the occasional pothole. Somehow, we pull ourselves out and carry on.
Much respect and empathy to you, Tina. Be assured, along with so many amongst us within the diverse and powerful blogging community, you will have ongoing support and encouragement. We learn to seek out the positive resources that are conducive to our mental health well being.
In kindness and hope, your way, Gary :)

  47. Congrats on the award! Gary, if you're reading this (I know Penny is, of course, because 93.3% of all canines can read), I just want ya to know n' stuff you deserve the recognition and I've always admired you for your generosity in helping to give recognition to others in the blogging community.

I wish I could say I will definitely visit each recipient of the award you have chosen, but this time around, this might prove to be a challenge I can't accomplish due to outside factors going on. But I'll do my best, dude. My life is a real work in progress, nowadays, but I can see a little light at the end of the tunnel. Hawk sounds like a dandy blogger- as do the rest. You give great, concise descriptions of each writer and their blog. Have a happy day, y'all! :)

  48. Hi Kelly,
Thanks for your very kind congrats, Kelly :) If Gary behaves, I will let him read your comment, later on.
I do try to give recognition to bloggers who may have not got the attention I think they merit. Yes, instead of handing on awards to some of those insincere, 'popular' bloggers, where, if they even bothered to acknowledge the award, I would get a lot more bloggers noticing me, I'd much rather pass on the majority of awards to those other kind and notable writers.
I understand what a trying and traumatic time it has been for you and your loved ones. That's why you going to so much effort to leave a comment is even more appreciated. I know you will, time allowing, check out those awardees you are not familiar with. Most importantly, is that you have a bit of peace and positivity in your life. And when you are ready, my human friend, you will be finding the inner resolve and focus to entertain and give serious meaning to us, via your clever and diverse blog.
Pawsitive wishes and doggy kisses, Penny xx
