How Sweet It Is.

Greetings, yes, tis I, Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet star.  I have been honoured to have received "The Irresistibly Sweet Blog Award"  from that lovable dog friend, Indy and her wonderful human, Teresa, over at this pawesome and awesome site : A Likely Story.   I thank you both very much for thinking of me.

I am supposed to reveal seven facts about myself.   Hopefully, I am not being too repetitive.   Still, even if I am, it's always good to share with you, my adoring fans, facts about this modest internet star.   So, for your delight, here goes.

1:  I have to be cautious when I go out for walks.   The 'puppyarazzi' take every opportunity to hound me for a photograph.
2:  I like to watch television and I start barking when I see horses on the screen.
3:  I am very kind and allow my human to take a break from his writing by doing one of my highly anticipated pawstings.
4:  I have attempted to teach my human, Gary, how to be a better writer.  Alassie, sorry, alas, he will not pay attention to my helpful hints.
5:   I know I've mentioned this before.  My left hip had to be removed when I was a little puppy.   Muscle has grown in the place of the missing hip.   And yes, you could call me 'one hip dog'....
6:   My young human, Tristan, finally got out of the bathroom the other day and took me for a walk.  If I had waited any longer, he would of discovered a nasty surprise in the hallway.
7:  I have my very own award that I pawsonally created.   It is called, "The Gold Framed Dog Blog Award" and has brought joy and inspiration to bloggers all over the world.   It has, according to my pawblicity team, even reached the surface of Uranus.  You may note my award in the photograph below.

Now I must forward "The Irresistibly Sweet Blog Award" onto seven worthy and wonderful bloggers.
Although I consider all of you to be excellent recipients of the award, here are seven examples that I think are superb read.

1:  thefeatherednest
2:  Nancy S. Thompson
3:  Prufrock's Dilemma
4:  Positive Letters....inspirational stories....
5:  Austanspace
6:  Cat Chat with Caren & Cody
7:  The Scribbling SeaSerpent

And with that, I, Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet star, wish you a peaceful and pawsitive day.......

  4. You have to be kidding me!!! Penny I can see how YOU got the award but when I first read this I thought that Klahanie got a "sweet" award and I was going to say "what????????" (that's a compliment because Klahanie you are brilliant and sarcastic, and that's what I like!)

    Penny you ARE sweet!
And you gave an award to me? For being sweet? Thank you!!! But I am also far from sweet!!! lol.

Please don't be upset with me but, I am grateful and THRILLED to receive this award but I have had it before and you don't want to wait MONTHS for me to respond lol!!!! If someone would like to grab it on my behalf, I am more than happy to pay it forward, but I am DEEPLY HONORED!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!

  6. Dear Penny,
Congratulations on receiving this much deserved award. I wonder how your human, Gary, is? Is he behaving himself? Do you take him out for walks when he needs to "go", so to speak?
Anyway, you are indeed a modest internet star and I always look forward to your blogs. So much more entertaining than Gary's!
With Very Best Wishes to you and your humans,
    David.

  9. Hello Penny and Gary:
Congratulations on your award, we can only imagine how wonderful you looked on the red carpet!! Did you wear Doggy and Gabbana?

We have only heard of one of your chosen blogs and so shall now have great fun exploring the others. Wishing you a virtual kennel full of good wishes!!

  10. PD is indeed honored to be included in such illustrious company--and particularly as the choice has been made by the tastemaster-in-chief, Penny, the Jack Russell dog and modest internet star. I am most amused, also, to learn the 7 New Facts about you, and particularly this: "I like to watch television and I start barking when I see horses on the screen." Over here, you may be amused to know, we have a cat who believes, when any sound comes out of a computer, that her erstwhile companion cat is the culprit, so she must "see to it." (Earphones, therefore, are de rigueur when listening to music from the laptop . . .) I bow deeply, hat sweeping the ground, upon receiving this honor from you and your human.

  11. Dear Penny, I read your beautiful list pantingly and I can agree with every thing. Your hip thing was most unfortunate but that title of "One Hip Dog" is a winner.

Yes, the puppyrazzi. I've had my moments with them too when the human granddaughter features me with her band. Oh what a life we lead, Penny. I love your award and congratulate you. You are most deserving.

    :-)

That was delightful. Well, I thought it was delightful. Liza B. Bitey (of the Minneapolis Biteys) did not find it amusing. But she's a cat, so...

  15. Greetings Odd, I mean Old Kitty :)
Yes ma'am I am the beautiful and 'one hip' dog. How cool.
I was very grateful for this award and I'm so sweet you might call me a 'lollipup'. Arf! Arf!
I shall endeavour to pawsevere and try to teach that mere human, Gary, how to write real good n'stuff!

  16. Dear Delores,
That's very kind of you to think I was worthy of such a sweet award. Of course, I state humbly, you are correct :)
And you are most welcome for the award. You are a very nice human. Thanks for the sweet thoughts from Canada, eh...

  17. Hi Bert,
Wow thanks Bert. You know I'm a big fan of you and your human, Vickie.
Indeed Bert, beyond the shadows of doubt in my human's writing, beats a pure heart and he is improving. Just looking at me has provided him with inspiration.
He's pretty darned good and what the heck, we are all pretty darned good. All different, all equal :)

  18. Hi Caren and Cody,
Would I kid you two? Of course I wouldn't! My human, Gary aka klahanie, has received this award in the past. It was time to balance things out and pass this award onto me, yes me, Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet star. And klahanie "brilliant" and "sarcastic". Well he can be almost brilliant when he pays attention to my writing techniques. However, he has never, ever, ever been sarcastic in his life, ever! :)
I've no doubt you are sweet. Then again, I'm not sure who I'm typing too. So, what the heck, you human and you cat, are like totally sweet. Never argue with a dog!
I'm not upset at all about you having already had this award and the possibility of waiting months, years, decades, for you to respond. I'm very sure that you have zillions of awards waiting to be placed up on your deeply philosophical and profound site. Please don't worry and I should mention that you need not acknowledge the award. Maybe just stick it in your trophy cabinet along with your other zillion or so awards :)
Anyway, if somebody or some cat, or dog, or gerbil, or rabbit, or wayward iguana, wants to take the award on your behalf, then so be it.
Take very good care and thanks for the laugh! :)
Pawsitive wishes and doggy kisses, your way, Penny xx

  20. Dear David,
Thank you, you human with the inclination for the usage of obscure words.
Actually, my human, Gary, has become very lazy. I tried to take him for a walk and he refused to budge. Heck, he was not even thrilled to go out wearing his nice new, bright red collar. No, the lazy human had an accident and I had to place a rag on said spillage. Some humans!
Glad to know you show enough intelligence to realise that my pawfound pawstings are much more entertaining than anything Gary could ever come up with. Which reminds me, that spillage was not much fun to clean up. He is such a silly human.

  23. Hello Jane and Lance,
Why thank you very much, my intellectual human type friends. I would modestly state that I look wonderful on any colour of carpet. Although, in moments of nature calling, I've been known to um...change the colour of carpet :)
Actually, I wore a stunning dress from 'Barks and Spencer'...
Have fun checking out those other chosen blogs. I do like to spread these awards around.
Thanks for your virtual kennel full of good wishes. A nice pawsonal touch.

  24. Hi Susan,
Prufrock's Dilemma is a highly regarded recipient of the award. Susan, my human who is not as cultured as I am, has learnt a lot from your fascinating and informative site. We both thank you.
I'm having a most amusing visual in regards to your cat who thinks sounds emanating from your computer is potentially her erstwhile companion cat. And speaking of headphones, I have this urge to do something in Gary's headphones. Must keep that a secret...
And yes indeed, it was our honour (honor) take that spell check, to bestow that honour on you and your superb blog.

  25. Dear Cody,
Paw sure Cody, having my hip removed was rather an unfortunate situation. Luckily, muscle took the place of the missing hip. And cool 'doggio', I am one hip dog! :)
Wow, you feature with your human's granddaughter's band. I wonder what songs you perform. "Bark at the Moon" by Ozzie Osbourne, perhaps...
Thanks for your congrats, Cody. You are such a nice dog and I reckon you have loads of fun in "Big Sky Country! :)

I know what it's like trying to come up with some different facts. Please remember Nancy, you are under no obligation to acknowledge the award. Heck, you can always just place it along side all your other well deserved awards and leave it at that.
    Take care Nancy.

Yikes, we could have some pundemonium happening.
Strange, most cats hero worship me. My fame usually ends up delighting the majority of cats. Yep, once they become starstruck by this modest internet star, that's it.
Liza B. Bitey, you know you are becoming starstruck. Believe cat, believe....:)
And the Minneapolis Biteys, thought that was baseball team that has an all-star CATcher....

  35. Hi Penny - what a fantastic Gold Framed Dog Blog Award - that's something special ..

Loved reading about you - always good to know more about the puppycelebs ..

That's so kind of you to award me the sweetie pie - did you frisbee it down south - it would have landed well ... skated to a gentle stop if you'd got your paw arm throw just right - and I feel you would have done.

We have a new kid on the block - a (big) baby gull .. must be nearing teenage years .. but it wants to skate on the bird bath frozen circle I put on the lawn ... they're cracked these birds. Still they are getting water and some food keep their spirits up during this cold snap ..

Cheers Penny and say 'hello' to Gary and Tristan .. and I hope they take you out even if it's cold ..

Have a good week .. and congratulations on your award - I guess the pie has gone by now? Hilary

  36. Hi Hilary,
Really pleased you like my very own award that has spread happy wishes around this beleaguered and fragile planet. I think it is time that the magic of my award, circulated from here, once more.
Glad you liked reading about the facts pertaining to this doggy internet star.
It was my great pleasure to forward in onto your kind self, Hilary. Your kindness and positive interaction has been duly noted. My human and myself are most grateful. I forwarded your award via 'Blog Air'. Hopefully, the airport is back to normal and you have received it.
I'm wondering if the big baby gull is a wayward Canadian gull. After all, Canadians of all descriptions, like to participate, or watch someone skating, eh.
Luckily, the ice has just about gone. Will be much better for the birds.
I shall pass on your 'hello' to Gary and his son, Tristan. They take me for walks and I stay nice and warm, despite the cold, wearing my fashionable coat :)
Thanks for your congrats on me receiving this award. Speaking of pie, I've noted a variety of tarts in the kitchen....
Pawsitive wishes and doggy kisses, Penny xx

  37. Congrats on the award, Penny and uh... Gary. Sometimes I forget who(m) I'm talking to during a post comment.

    On your seven revealing facts...

1- You should raise your leg and fart in their general direction. Same goes for Gary
2- You bark when you see horses on TV. I bark when I see elderly women spider-walk naked during church communion.
3- I am very kind by not immediately meeting a stranger and not bashing their head in with a sledgehammer. But your kindness can be appreciated, as well.

I would go on with the list, but I am only able to skim through paragraphs of a post and look at keywords that are highlighted or in bold type and leave short, vague, often pathetic comments that delight blog authors around the world. I have a special gift.

Again, I would very much like to check out the recipients of this award, as well. I'm sure they deserve the award, my friend. Have a peaceful and pawsitive day! And keep that Gary fella on the straight and narrow. Sometimes, he can be downright naughty.

  38. Hi Kelly,
Thanks for the congrats um human. I can assure you that you are indeed being replied to by Penny the Jack Russell and modest internet. Despite my fame, I do my best to comment back to each creature that leaves a comment. Unlike those who think everyone and every creature, should just go to their sites and heap praise upon them without so much as a response. Anyhow, ruffing rant over.

Fact 1: Have tried what you suggested and so has Gary. Sadly, the puppyarazzi enjoy the pungent aroma and just compounds their frenzy towards me and even Gary.
2: You describe one of Gary's many fantasies.
3: I think it's kind you refrain from the usage of the sledgehammer upon immediate meeting of strangers. I reckon you are more the baseball bat type, anyway.
Delighted that you are now straying with your comment into the wrong posting. Well done and big respect to you. Your gift of vagueness is much appreciated :) At this rate, you will become the bestest known blogger, ever!
I'm sure, if you find the time, those mentioned sweet bloggers will thrill you beyond any imaginable emotion. Enjoy, if and when you can.
My human is a naughty man. It takes all my reasoning skills to keep him under control. If not, gosh, he would be writing very crude stuff. We wouldn't want that....
Pawsitive wishes and doggy kisses, Penny xx

  39. Too adorable!! =) You're both so lovable! You & your human owner that is, Penny.

Gary's sweetness & humor will just melt you like a hot fudge topping. <3

Congratulations Penny, and Gary! ;-) For a doggy would not be all a doggy could be without its master.

  40. Hey LilPixi,
Thank you so much :) Gary, the human I allow to live with me, has had some moments of being lovable..
You're very sweet about noting Gary's sweetness and humour. I let him read your comment and he smiled. Then he rolled over and let me shake his paw, I mean, hand:)
Thanks for your congrats. My master is really controlled by me. Arf! Arf!
Pawsitive wishes and doggy kisses, Penny xx
