Penny's Seven Links.

Okay, Gary aka klahanie, has been 'tagged', which is a good thing.  About time he had some proper identification so the authorities can check his whereabouts.   Almost a month ago, the human I allow to live me, was tagged by a really neato blogger who can be found over at this here site, the feathered nest   If, for some unimaginable reason, you haven't checked out that site, I highly recommend that you do so.

The challenge is to go back through your archives and place seven of your posts into different categories and in turn, to nominate five bloggers to do the same thing.
Ummm....really, well that could take some doing.  Finding seven of Gary's posts to actually be even remotely worthy of your attention.  So, I'm going to compromise on this one.  Even though I'm not the 'self-pawmoting' type of adorable dog, you know, Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet star,  I'm going to put some of  my 'pawstings' on here in the various categories.  Here goes.... 'arf' you ready?

Category 1 : Most beautiful post :   The Little Red Wagon Parade.   Because I take pity on Gary, I've selected one of his posts.
Category 2  : Most popular post :  Can't Fly With Me?   Oh well, the most popular post on this site has to do with 'adult only planes'.  People keep searching for 'cartoon plane', visit the site for like zero seconds and off they go.  Now and this is more like it, at one time, the most popular post on this site was written by Gary and it has to do with 'horse manure'.  Which is very reminiscent of the crap he writes.
Category 3  :  Most controversial post :  My Brain Is Fried.    This one was brutally honest and in all seriousness, I really felt for him on that posting.
Category 4  :  Most helpful :  The A to Zed Alphabark Challenge.  I observed, with bewilderment, that a lot of bloggers were doing some kind of challenge that taught them the letters of the Alphabet.  Thus, trying to be of help, I added my very own, 'pawsonel' thoughts on this highly important challenge!
Category 5  :  The post whose success surprised me the most.  That would be in so far as one that got a lot of hits that I was very surprised got a lot of hits.  So naturally, it's one of Gary's posts :  The Originals Of The Species.   I have really no idea why a photo of Gary, posing with a sombrero, would get so many hits on the site.  I mean, good grief, look at the state of him.  And that silly grin on his face....
Category 6 :  The post that didn't get the attention it deserved :  The 'Wee Folks' Wedding.  The 'wee folks' are my friends and they live in our garden.  Gary, much to the bemusement of our neighbours, went out and took photos of that blessed and magical event.  I know that very few have looked at the photos and I think they are well worth marvelling at.
Category 7 :  The post I'm most proud of.  In fairness, I'm going to submit two.  The first one is the one that Gary had read on the radio.  It's still beyond my comprehension why they would have him as part of an interview.  So, here it is : A Near-Life Experience.    And, here's the 'pawsting' I'm post proud of : Pawsitive Wishes.

Righty ho, those were Penny's seven links.  Yes, I'm supposed to nominate five bloggers to do the same.  However, because I'm ready for yet another nap, I thought that if you want to 'tag' yourself and submit your own links, then by all means, go for it.

To delight you beyond any adequate adjectives, below are a couple of photos of me, yes me, Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet star.

Here's me guarding the garden.  Note my concentration.

That's just about it, my adoring fans.  Yet another fascinating, must-read 'pawsting' by this modest dog who would never, ever 'self-pawmote'.  Press, ''PAWBLISH PAWST ".....

  1. Hi Penny .. (and Gary) you'd better make sure he reads it too! .. I'm sure these are excellent suggestions - but I'm super impressed at your ability to count all those hits .. and know about them .. I think I can understand the Can't Fly With Me .. cartoon plane .. talk about frivolities of the light finger touch internetters zooming in and out ...

Such is life .. I think I have one of these to do too ...??

It's 8.21 am precisely and there's a fox outside on the lawn .. one that was here at 9.30 pm last night .. the tail is almost as long as the body! It drinks out of Gull's bird baths ..

Sorry for changing the subject - but Penny we probably need you on guard down here .. hope the rain goes and we can have a sunny day - cheers for now! Hilary

  4. Well Penny, it was very nice of you to take over for Gary and look after that "tag". That WAS quite a while ago. ahem.
I had not read the Little Red Wagon. What a sweet and touching story.
Going back over My Brain is Fried I could feel the pain all over again. Thank goodness your Gary is a VERY strong man and managed to get himself through this ordeal.
So Penny, another wonderful job by yourself. Say hi to Gary for me and please continue to look after him. What WOULD he do without you?

  5. From Bazza's cat Ginger:
Well Penny, I think Gary has got you to do his publicity work for him (again). Actually I don't think he ever published a post that was not a success!

  6. Hi Hilary,
I will doubly make sure that the old dude reads it, also. I have had a check on the 'stats' section of blogger and I also noted that one particular posting gets a lot of attention for some very weird reasons. It was something about Gary doing a posting on 'Banbury Cross' and humans keep searching for 'horses' and a euphemism for a gentleman's genitalia.
Thanks for sharing that fascinating info on the fox. And speaking of Gulls, I think it would be great if that Herring Gull did another posting on your site. After all, we in the animal world, have proven, beyond any doubt, that we are better writers than you humans could ever be :)
I shall come down and guard your garden as soon as I have another one of my well earned naps. And, can you believe it, it didn't rain here today.
Pawsitive wishes and doggy kisses, your way, Penny x

  7. Hi Old Kitty,
Yes I am a beauty and yes, I'm very modest about being adorable and being an internet star. Then again, Charlie seems very modest about his fame.
I shall whisper, very, very quietly into Gary's ear that he's "bloody wonderful!!!" :) Me thinks it's about time I got interviewed on Radio 5 Live, arf! arf!
Thank you, Old Kitty and I sure hope you and the lovable Charlie are having a really neat weekend.
Pawsitive and pawesome wishes, Penny x

  8. Hi R. Jacob,
That's a very kind offer, my human friend. However, I don't need an agent and I'm already a 'pawblisher' :)

  9. Hi Delores,
Thanks. The old guy needs a rest from his futile attempts at writing. It seemed only right I took over and demonstrated my writing 'supawriority' Indeed, it was some time ago that you originally tagged Gary. You posted that blog on July 16 and Gary left a comment on that blog. I know he mentioned it might take about a month to make mention of your tag posting and he really did his best to make note of it within the month. I know he's sorry he couldn't post it sooner.
Thanks for reading that story about the Little Red Wagon Parade. I think it's one of Gary's better efforts.
I remember how worried Gary was after he put up that posting about his brain being fried. I tried to reassure him that any human reading it would not pass judgement of his rather colourful usage of the English language. He thanks you for your very kind and understanding words.
Thanks for thinking this was a wonderful job by me. I'm very flattered :) I shall say hi to the human I so very generously allow to live with me. And yes indeed, what the heck would the old dude do without my caring and guidance.
Have a pawesome and pawsitive weekend. In kindness, Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet star x

  10. Hi Bazza's cat Ginger,
Me, Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet star, doing Gary's 'pawblicity' work? Ginger, would I do that? :)
Thanks Ginger, but the posts would not be nearly the success they are without my help.
Pawsitive wishes and doggy kisses, your way, Penny x

  11. Hi Penny .. glad to know you're looking after yourself .. naps are always healthy.

Banbury Cross .. I think I can understand why Gary's stats went up for that post .. but I don't think you should enlighten him ..

Gull's been working up to a new post .. but the mob rule worried him .. he's very safe here .. but he wanted to do a visit and thought he'd wait ..

All's well here - we did have some rain ..and it's welcome - we don't have enough ..

But I shall leave you now - to help prepare for a Turkey posting ..

Cheers for now - seems like good weather for a couple of walks .. so enjoy yourself .. Hilary

  18. Hi Hilary,
Apawlogies for such a delay in replying to your comment. I had a very, very, long nap :)
I think we should definitely keep quiet in regards to his stats going up for his 'Banbury Cross' posting. Arf, arf! :)
I look paward to when your friend, the herring gull, submits a new posting on your lovely site.
We've had more than our share of rain here in 'Leak', whoops, I mean, Leek :)
Shall have a gander at your turkey posting.
Once again, it's raining, but I'm getting that human who I allow to live with me, take me out for a nice, muddy walk.
    Thanks Hilary.
Pawsitive wishes and doggy kisses, Penny x

  21. Hi Hilary,
Thank you and I've had a quick check of Manzanita's site and that really is a beautiful song by her granddaughter.
Although, I don't 'Wanna Buy A Duck'. Heck, I have enough trouble looking after Gary :)

  22. Hi Jeff,
Why thank you kindly, my human buddy. I do hope you had a good check of my writing. I've been trying to show Gary and other humans, just how much better us dogs and okay, other creatures, are at writing than humans :)
We demonstrate unconditional, non-judgemental love to you humans. We hope that mankind will learn from the inspiring lessons we try to teach.
I note your passion for writing and you have my total respect for your dedication and determination. Happy writing, human :)
    Pawsitive wishes, your way, Penny

  24. Hi Joylene,
How's it goin' eh? Arf, arf! Glad you loved my suggestions. Quite understandable.
Actually, there's a big screen adaptation of my life and stories, being worked on by some of the finest celebrities. Lassie, Rin Tin Tin, London, 'The Littlest Hobo', Muttley and of course, Scooby Doo....yikes.....
Very kind of you, a well known celebrity author type human, to check out some you may have possibly missed. I reckon, just look through mine. Gary's writing is boring and cringe-worthy, compared to mine. Yes mine, Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet star, also 'Penny-The Movie', coming to a cinema, near you. Gosh! :) And yes, I love dogging, I mean blogging :)
Pawsitive wishes and dogggy kisses, Penny xx
