Egged On.

Have you ever watched an "egg and spoon", race?  Well, I've observed a few egg and spoon races and the outcome has always been the same.  Agonisingly close, the egg ends up winning, because the, "dish ran away with the spoon."

Do you think that spoons like "spoonerisms"?  If a spoon could talk, would it get its 'metters lixed'?  Well, frankly, I don't 'shive a git'.  'Swoving miftly on....'

"Hey diddle diddle, the cat and the fiddle."  So what's that all about?  "The cow jumped over the moon. The little dog laughed to see such fun and the dish ran away with the spoon."  So, just what is it all about?  It's about illuminating the minds of children of all ages.  Creativity and wonderment knows no boundaries.
Our friend, the spoon, despite losing the race, never gives up.  For, our friend, the spoon, knows that one day soon, it will win the race.  Does this happy spoon stir your imagination?

In the face of adversity, do you find that inner resolve and determination to never give up, very much like the spoon?  

You are egged on with encouragement.

    Not giving up - nothing God and I can't handle.

    The cat never gives up at his sea, even with the crap that falls from the tree, although a pain literally most times, still away with the rhymes. Although instead of a fiddle he'd rather diddle

    The spoon, determined to not be the butt of any more 'yolks', has decided to come out of his 'shell' and keep on going!

    There is something playful about the spoon, and it's good for scooping up nutella and other treats. When I think of adversity, though, I think of a quote about the egg: "The more you boil it, the harder it gets."

    Personally, I feel for the spoon and think the egg is evil. I mean, honestly, shake it! Now, tell me the egg isn't possessed! The spoon on the other hand is quite unshakable. That should be how we tell good guys from bad... yup, we need to shake em!

    When facing adversity...it isn't really resolve or determination.

    I love a good egg and spoon race, reminds me of school sports days! Except we weren't allowed to use real eggs (health and safety!) so we used potatoes - somehow not quite the same!

    Hi Gary .. I hadn't thought about Nursery Rhymes or tales from my ancient past .. but this is great - I never could do the egg and spoon race ... now I have a bent for my wooden spoon utensil post ... but I do love cutlery - good design makes it.

    Love the photo of your fandambilly, the smiley face, the spoon and the egg looking slightly askance at life and thinking what next will this lot come up with ...

      This wouldn't be a tale from your ancient past. It twas but yesterday, dear friend. I suppose if one finished last in the egg and spoon race, they would receive the wooden spoon.

      Me and my whole famn damily. I took that picture with an old lousy camera. Imagine the strange looks I got from my neighbours...

    Love this! I have two voices in my head. The giver upper and the keep on going oner. They both drive me crazy, really. But I always listen to the later voice.

    I will remember the spoon!
    As usual a very encouraging and inspirational post.
    I don't give up easily either, but lately, my asthma has been getting the best of me I get cranky and sometimes it gets hard to talk because I get shortness of breath. Once I am free of asthma, I am just like the spoon. Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
