Hope Amongst The Mountains.
I would go out for a morning stroll and be awed by the mountains that surround the home of Heather and Wayne. I marvelled at such majestic wonder. Indeed, there I was in a town named Hope and hope was there, amongst the mountains. This a view of Mount Hope that I took front outside their front door.
In case you are not already aware, if you click on the photos, they will enlarge and fill up your computer screen.
And this a view of another mountain that can be seen just outside their front door. This breathtaking mountain is Mount Ogilvie.
A few minutes away from their house is this picturesque lake with a magnificent mountain backdrop. This is Kawkawa Lake and the mountain in the background is Mount Ogilvie. I spent a most reflective hour there, listening to the wind as it gently flowed through the valley.
And as day turned to night, one last look at Mount Hope.
One last glimpse of Mount Ogilvie, as the final moments of another day in Hope, drew to another profound and inspirational conclusion.
I looked out the bedroom window and watched as the moon set behind the mountains to the west. I sensed hope amongst the mountains and I know that such feelings of hope resonates in the hearts of Heather and Wayne. May hope and positivity embrace your heart.

Happy Birthday Gary ! I just checked out your blog (As advised by my blog friend Delores who is so cool) and the mountain pics certainly cheered me. Living in the flat plains of Central Illinois I ache for mountains some days. Many thanks and have a birthday !

Alas the day has almost ended, so I'm hoping your day was filled with hope, laughter and sunshine :)
Hi Gary
ReplyDeleteWell these are stunning pictures, thanks for sharing, and you had to come back to not so picturesque, Blighty! I spent 5 years in Switzerland in a mountain resort just at the foot of the Matterhorn. I never tired of the breathtaking scenery. There's something very mystical and magical about the mountains. Full of untold stories and adventurs I'd imagine.
Happy Birthday to you....squash tomatoes and stew etc etc
Take Care
GEM
Hi Bert,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind words and where they live is a most inspiring place and aptly named, 'Hope'.
Take good care, Gary :)
Hi Leontien,
ReplyDeleteThank you kindly for liking the photos. It is a very nice view, for sure.
I wouldn't mind going back there and taking in those views, once again. Still, it's very beautiful in the part of England I live in.
Take very good care.
In kindness, Gary :)
Greetings Cro Magnon,
ReplyDeleteAh yes, my birthday has now been and gone.
And, lucky me, Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet star, piddled in my shoes, for good luck, of course. Such a thoughtful dog :)
Thanks for your birthday wishes. Very kind of you.
With respect and good wishes, your way, Gary.
Hi THE SNEE,
ReplyDeleteRebecca, my dear friend, I know that you always find the positives in your life and those darker moments soon fade away :)
I know you are trying to live your life with realistic positive anticipation. I'm delighted that the words and the photos gave you glimpses of the hope that lies within you.
And yes, one can climb Mount Hope. Imagine being at the summit of Hope and seeing Hope, below.
Thank you for the birthday wishes. Most thoughtful of you.
Take very good care of yourself and your loved ones.
Kind wishes, your way, Gary :)
Hi Old Kitty,
ReplyDeleteThat was some view and one day I shall return to take in that view, again. 'Hope' is the place we all should live in :)
In kindness, Gary x
Hi Donna,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your birthday wishes. And thanks for dropping by thanks to our dear friend, Delores. She really is a marvel and well cool :)

Hi GEM,
ReplyDeleteThank you for liking the photos and it was my pleasure to share them. Luckily, I live fairly near the Peak District and pretend they are mountains :)
Wow GEM! What an awesome experience that must have been. I sure know what you mean about never tiring of such magnificent scenery. And I definitely relate to the mystical and magical aura that exudes from mountains. Did you learn how to yodel?
Thank you for your birthday wishes. Very nice of you.

Kind wishes and thoughts of magical, mystical mountains, your way, Gary :)
Well first of all Happy Birthday!!! How does it feel to be 30? Great, yes?
ReplyDeleteMountains.. i have only seen them one and I was in awe.. so much beauty I thought my eyes would collapse from the weight.. How blessed you were able to spend time in such splendor. well deserving for you I know. Thank you for brightening up my night!!
Incredible!! So breathtaking! =)
ReplyDeleteCanada sure does look amazingly beautiful! =)
Dear Gary,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures of a beautiful place, Gary. And the writing isn't bad, either. Those mountains look truly imposing and awe-inspiring.
Also, I didn't realise it was your birthday soon, my hirsute pal. Your card is in the, erm, post. Feel free to give me a suitably admonishing phone call, but your card will be on the way, rest assured.
Very Best Wishes, Happy Birthday, and a wheelbarrow full of hope and inspiration, your way,
David.
Thanks Gary for those few inspirational words.....last night I was feeling down and I couldn't post...I got up this morning and re-read your post and studied your pictures. Thanks again for sharing and reassuring me that THERE IS HOPE!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos that clearly depict the splendor of Hope and her mountains. I drove through the Shuswap on my way home and for a moment I imagined what visitors must think when they travel inside British Columbia. It is indeed extraordinarily breathtaking. Such a diverse province. We have rain and heavy overcast. Seven hundred kilometres south they're in a heatwave, 700 kilometres north, it's cool and clear skies.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to be back and to be reading your blog, Gary.
Sir Tom Eagerly, says:
ReplyDeleteA delightful calm has descended upon Sir Tom. Y'know Gary sometimes I look dreamily out of the window too. I also hear the sighing wind in the distant hills.......but I think it might be me!
Tally Ho old boy!
Lucky you! What a gorgeous place. Your descriptions are as lovely as the photos. Take care.
ReplyDeleteWe're in awe looking at the photos of the Mountains. You must've felt serenity embracing your soul. Indeed a great place to reflect!
ReplyDeleteHowdy Lynne,
ReplyDeleteWhy thank you for the birthday wishes. Well, of course, now that I have reached '30', it aint so bad, after all. Just think, in another 9 years, you too will be 30, which is apparently, the new 20. So what the heck does that make a 10 year old, eh?
There is something very powerful and spiritual about the beauty of mountains. I was blessed to be embracing hope amongst the mountains.
And thank you for brightening up my morning :)
In peace and positivity, Gary.
Hey LilPixi,
ReplyDeleteCanada is a wonderfully diverse country and I look forward to going back to Canada, my other beautiful home :)
Take very good care of yourself.
In peace and good wishes, Gary :)
Dear David,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind words. The writing would of been better if Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet star, had written up the photo captions.
It really is an awe-inspiring place and I reckon a place like that would bring out the 'hippy' in you, maaan....
And yes indeed dude, it was my birthday. Our American buddies celebrate my birthday, one day early.
I look forward to any communication from you. I shall endeavour to try and talk to you, rather than your answer phone :)
Thanks for those birthday wishes and I shall send you a wheelbarrow of ummm...ah yes, hope and inspiration, back your way.
With the kindest of wishes, Gary.
Dear MartyrMom,
ReplyDeleteI'm truly touched that the words and photos could bring you to a more positive place.
My dear friend, there is hope and we can all share our hopes and dreams, together.
Here's wishing you peace and contentment.
With much respect and kindness, your way, Gary :)
Hi Joylene,
ReplyDeleteThanks Joylene and I can imagine that visitors to BC must be truly struck by the diversity and the beauty of the Province.
I know what you mean about the wide varieties within the Province. I reckon, if you wait a few minutes, it will be sunny and hot, up where you live, eh:)
Can you imagine a tourist driving through all that rainforest and suddenly discovering themselves in the Okanagan. Now that really is an incredible change in terrain and climate.
I'm most flattered that you are back reading my blog. I hope that next time I'm over, we can actually all meet up, eh :)
Take care and happy writing.
Gary
Warm greetings Sir Tom Eagerly,
ReplyDeleteI'm incredibly thrilled to know that a delightful calm has descended upon your fine and noble self.
Perhaps, if an ill wind doth bloweth from thyself, it is probably a good thing that you open that window you look dreamily out of and let such wind escape, be free and knock out your prize winning collection of pot-bellied Vietnamese pigs....
Hey Dixie,
ReplyDeleteLucky me, for sure. Heather and Wayne live in a very beautiful and breathtaking part of the world.
I thank you for liking the descriptions and the photos.
Peaceful and positive wishes, your way, Gary :)
Hi Ramona Andresa,
ReplyDeleteThose are such awesome mountains. I did feel the serenity of such magnificence embracing my soul. I reflected then and I still do, on such a wondrous time and place.
Thank you.
In peace and tranquillity, your way, Gary :)
Hesus H. Christ those were beautiful shots. I'm really glad you took those pictures while you were there. Mounts Hope and Olgivie look fantastic. That's the kind of place I'd like to live. You're very fortunate to have experienced those amazing landscapes and scenic areas.
ReplyDeleteThat it. I'm taking a plane ride to Hope, Canada. Here I go. I'll just leave the wife a a few words on the note pad on the fridge.
Great post, Gary.
Btw, I saved those pictures from here and they're in my computer Wallpaper collection.
ReplyDeleteHey Kelly,
ReplyDeleteThose photos turned out rather well. I'm really pleased you liked the photos of Mounts Hope and Ogilvie. And even more pleased that the fair town of Hope may become your new place of residence. Just don't be wearing army clothes or the locals might think you're Rambo returning to make a new version of Rambo First Blood.
Get scribbling that note eh and I shall inform the folks of Hope that they should anticipate your arrival and have a big, gosh darn, rip-roarin' parade to welcome y'all. Yes indeed, I will make sure there are several psychotic clowns in your parade. Make you feel right at home in a 'carnival' atmosphere.
Thanks buddy and take good care:)
Kind wishes and a ticket to Hope, your way, Gary.
Hey Kelly,
ReplyDeleteWow, that's really neat you have saved the photos for your computer wallpaper collection. I'm really flattered by that :)
Take good care and keep smiling :)
Beautiful, as always! Reminds me of the Issaquah Alps near my home.
ReplyDeleteHi Nancy,
ReplyDeleteThanks and I know just how magnificent the Issaquah Alps, truly are. It is indeed an awesome part of the world you live in.
Take care and have a most pleasant weekend, Gary :)
one person can look at a mountain and call it hope and another person can look at a mountain and call it an obstacle... either way, the mountain is still a mountain... the difference is in the person and the filter they are gazing through... as always, you uplift and inspire by gazing through a lens of hope... which means it doesn't matter where you live or what the scenery is like because hope mountain is inside of you (and all of us) all the time everywhere...
ReplyDeletethank you for seeing the world this way, and for sharing your vision of it... by sharing you help others remember that hope mountain is inside them too.
Hello stranger! Long time no see. I love the pictures and wish I could see the mountains for myself.
ReplyDeleteI can see how you could do a lot of pondering out there.
:-)
Hi Joanne,
ReplyDeleteAnd what you have so thoughtfully noted, resonates with the thought I stated in a previous posting and I quote myself, "And what of the mountains? Do we see them as barriers? Or do we visualise the view from the top and the panorama that inspires us to seek a happy life?
Joanne, my dear friend, indeed 'hope mountain' is within us all and all around us. It's just a question of what we do with that hope. Do we embrace it or dismiss it.
Thank you so very much for your beautifully expressed comment, Joanne. May we all embrace the hope that is all around and truly share that hope with each other.
May you have a most peaceful and pleasant weekend.
With kind wishes and respect, your way, Gary :)
Hi Misha,
ReplyDeleteVery nice of you to visit. It's been a while :)
Ah the mountains of hope, inspiration and magic, are within you and that inspiration will come through with your passion for writing.
I did some serious pondering whilst I was there. In fact, I'm now pondering about my pondering :)
Have a lovely weekend, Misha.
In kindness, Gary :)

The scenery is indeed beautiful. Take care and happy writing.

I have only just arrived back and shall endeavour to finally get back into some sort of interactive blogging routine. See you over at your site :)
Take care, Gary
I am just back from the mountains (the Adirondacks, in this case), and loved seeing your photograph and reading of what your mountains meant to you. Lovely post!
ReplyDeleteHi Susan,
ReplyDeleteWow, the Adirondacks. I've seen some photos of that area in the fall and the colours are truly spectacular.
Thank you for thinking this was a lovely post.
In peace, Gary.
