Hope Amongst The Mountains.


I would go out for a morning stroll and be awed by the mountains that surround the home of Heather and Wayne.  I marvelled at such majestic wonder.  Indeed, there I was in a town named Hope and hope was there, amongst the mountains.  This a view of Mount Hope that I took front outside their front door.

And this a view of another mountain that can be seen just outside their front door.  This breathtaking mountain is Mount Ogilvie.



A few minutes away from their house is this picturesque lake with a magnificent mountain backdrop.  This is Kawkawa Lake and the mountain in the background is Mount Ogilvie.  I spent a most reflective hour there, listening to the wind as it gently flowed through the valley.


And as day turned to night, one last look at Mount Hope.


One last glimpse of Mount Ogilvie, as the final moments of another day in Hope, drew to another profound and inspirational conclusion.


I looked out the bedroom window and watched as the moon set behind the mountains to the west.  I sensed hope amongst the mountains and I know that such feelings of hope resonates in the hearts of Heather and Wayne.  May hope and positivity embrace your heart.

    Well these are stunning pictures, thanks for sharing, and you had to come back to not so picturesque, Blighty! I spent 5 years in Switzerland in a mountain resort just at the foot of the Matterhorn. I never tired of the breathtaking scenery. There's something very mystical and magical about the mountains. Full of untold stories and adventurs I'd imagine.

  25. Beautiful photos that clearly depict the splendor of Hope and her mountains. I drove through the Shuswap on my way home and for a moment I imagined what visitors must think when they travel inside British Columbia. It is indeed extraordinarily breathtaking. Such a diverse province. We have rain and heavy overcast. Seven hundred kilometres south they're in a heatwave, 700 kilometres north, it's cool and clear skies.

    So glad to be back and to be reading your blog, Gary.

    Thanks Joylene and I can imagine that visitors to BC must be truly struck by the diversity and the beauty of the Province.
    I know what you mean about the wide varieties within the Province. I reckon, if you wait a few minutes, it will be sunny and hot, up where you live, eh:)
    Can you imagine a tourist driving through all that rainforest and suddenly discovering themselves in the Okanagan. Now that really is an incredible change in terrain and climate.

  43. one person can look at a mountain and call it hope and another person can look at a mountain and call it an obstacle... either way, the mountain is still a mountain... the difference is in the person and the filter they are gazing through... as always, you uplift and inspire by gazing through a lens of hope... which means it doesn't matter where you live or what the scenery is like because hope mountain is inside of you (and all of us) all the time everywhere...

    thank you for seeing the world this way, and for sharing your vision of it... by sharing you help others remember that hope mountain is inside them too.
