Alpo Lapdog Computer.

Hi there, yes it's me, Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet superstar!  My fictional human, Gary and I, do so hope you enjoyed the weekend interludes we pawsted.  We did switch off comments because we knew you might be one of those busy commenting on that alternative challenge to the Alphabark Challenge, 2014!  Thus, we just wanted you, whether you were doing the A to Z or not, to have some nice, relaxing moments at this site.

Barking of commenting.  Start again, speaking of commenting, my poor human struggles to keep up with commenting.  He begged somebody to send him a cloning machine.  No luck.  He asked the wee folks who live in our magical garden to maybe help.  No luck.  They're too busy packing up their mushroom houses in prepawration for the move to my fictional human's new home.

Fictional Gary left me to pawnder the pawsiblities.  I think I might have a solution to help him keep up with his commenting.  When he moves to his new home, I shall come over and help him by commenting on sites using my very own computer.  I'm going to pawchase an Alpo lapdog computer.  This should make it a whole lot easier for my fictional human, Gary.  Pawblem solved, pawhaps...

Gary was telling me he went to a "laptop dancing club."  I have no idea what he's talking about.  I can't imagine a laptop dancing.
Now it's time for a well deserved doggy nap.  The hectic life of being a doggy diva and forever avoiding the pesky puparazzi, can take its toll.

Now, Gary, what on earth were you doing at a laptop dancing club????

I think Gary must of been making it up about a laptop dancing club. He is rather strange at the best of times!

  3. Being a dog is extremely exhausting. I'm looking at my three right now and they are all sound asleep! Each one in a spot of their own, snuggled up tight, as if it were for the night and it's not even four in the afternoon! Silly dogs.

No worries about Gary commenting over at my place. This human doesn't work that way. I visit because I want to, not because I expect one in return. Enjoy your nap, Penny.

I hope Gary's move goes well, without too much fuss and bother. Has he remembered to pack a separate box of kitchen stuff so he can have a cuppa as soon as he arrives?

Gary or I, don't follow a huge amount of blogs. We do make sure that the blogs we follow are ones we want to follow. Commenting can be a rather difficult balancing act. And yes, one has to try and not be repeating what somebody else has said.

Thanks for you nice words in regards to his move. He will be just fine. I know the last box to be packed will be kitchen stuff. And the first box to be opened will be the kitchen stuff.

  38. Dearest Penny,
I appreciate your kind initiative in assisting you wonderful human, our dear Gary. I do have a suggestion. While it is really sweet of him to respond to each comment right here, I will admit that I rarely go back to an old post to read what he wrote. I know, bad visitor, but it does take time.
My suggestion would be to either make strings of responses, as some of his fans like Hilary, another lovely Brit, or Alex, who really ought to share his cloning machine.
Or, the thoughtful return visits he makes certainly do make a response to the comment - showing that he cares to read what they have to say also. I know he does this because I see his comments everywhere I go.
Besides, when he turns off comments, that does not deter me. I have his email...and our email conversations are a precious gift to me.
He understands my mental afflictions and offers such gently, yet timely and wise suggestion for how to pull myself out of the much of depression.

Regardless of what he decides, the blogging experience should not cause him stress - that should be avoided. Please give him my warmest regards,
    I love and friendship,

Your suggestion is gratefully read. My human and I have considered doing just that. We have changed the notation in the comment section that we may now have to give shortened or group thank you's. We have tried to give the personal touch by responding to each blogger. Time and logistics are now starting to overwhelm us. So yes, we need to find a balance that works for us.

We both adore your emails, Tina. Yep, even when we switch off comments, no stopping you! :)

Seriously, you know that my human, pretend or otherwise and I, work a lot in the background. The most important thing is the gifts of empathy. Gary and I feel comfort in knowing that when we help you, we help ourselves. The goes way beyond the blog.

The blogging experience only causes him stress during your A to Z Challenge. Must work through that one, my dear human friend.

  42. Hi Penny. I'm glad you have confirmed that Gary is fictional. Frankly I always suspected some was a bit odd about him. Fancy creating a fictional person just so that he can post and say some outrageous things. It's shocking!

    1. Hi human, bazza,

I thought you had already realised that Gary was fictional. I cannot imagine a real human being a strange as him. Yes, what a great way for my fictional human to be totally outrageous. Of course, this amazing dog could never be outrageous.

A 200th pawst? Superb and yes, this here dog will come and celebrate and maybe have a crap or something.

    1. Hi human, Patricia,

Cats are a little slow when it comes to computing. Although, her stealing your chair with the comfy cushion might be a precursor to her learning how to paw on the peeboard :)

  45. I want one of those cloning machines too. And a bank of superspeed computers. Oh, and the fastest internet in the world. That's not asking too much is it? How else could I effectively manage blogs fests 24/7 365 days a year?

    1. Hi Lee,

We know of somebody who has a cloning machine, don't we. You and I both relate to computers that are slower than a parked car. And superfast broadband, the stuff of dreams. We both know that going via Google+ can take ten years just to load up. We need to get you several extremely fast computers, my human friend. The more blog hops and fests you create, the more followers you accumulate.

Penny, your cordial host of the Alphabark Challenge,2014!

  48. An Alpo Lapdog Computer sounds like the perfect solution! Many of us are behind in commenting, so join the pawty -- but there will be no laptop dancing allowed. You never know where those things have been...

I know how much you try to keep up with comments. I know how you endeavour to comment back to each person or animal. Right now, your reply comments on your latest pawst are coming through on my email account.

My fictional goofy human and I sure do our best to leave hopefully quality comments whether here or there, or there, or here....or....

  51. Penny, you're defintely the cutest dog! :) I so know how Gary feels, sometimes it's really hard to keep up with blogging when real life kicks in...but the blogging family is an important family so I try to make as much time as possible. 1. Hi human, Beate,

Why, thank you, dear human. It can be a real struggle and finding a balance can be difficult. Indeed, life outside in the garden can get in the way. That's a good thing as nature calls me :) My human and I believe that there's much to embrace in the pawsitive ideals of a sharing, caring blogging community. A powerful force for the good.

I have a pawst after this pawst, if you you so desire to read it. Wishing you a lovely weekend and hey, congrats! :)

  52. I agree with keeping up to comments look at me days behind in catching up. I worked like two non scheduled days during A-Z and got ten behind I don't understand it. I do agree on taking a nap which is what the Chihuahua is doing right now. She is one lucky dog. :)

    1. Hi Gossip_Grl,

Oh yeah, keeping up with comments can be quite the time consuming situation. Considering we didn't do that alternative to Alphabark Challenge, we have tried our best to comment on that A to Z. A nap would be great right about now. I do thank you for taking the time to backtrack to this pawsting.

Happy napping to your beloved Chihuahua :) Happy napping to you, my dear human friend.

I do try to comment back to each commenter individually. However, I might have to shorten my replies or give a group thank you. That way, I can spend more time commenting on your blogs. Thank you and peace, my friend.
