Supporting Each Other.

I am a man who has been blessed with gifts of support from some very kind and special people within the great community of bloggers.  The above award I receive with much gratitude.  The award was forwarded to me because I have been considered of being support to fellow bloggers.
I wish to apologise for not responding to this award at an earlier time.
I was given this award by GEM over at the following site, the modern day spinster....   GEM writes a cleverly written, witty and thought provoking blog that I consider a must read.  Indeed, this very kind lady has an important message within her words and if you have not already done so, I would highly recommend that you check her site out.  Thank you GEM and thank you for your support.
I also received this award from a very kind and supportive man and was not aware of it until I checked back through GEM's link.  This fine gentleman had bestowed the award upon me while I was in Canada.  And so, I wish to thank Kelly, over at the following site, PSYCHO CARNIVAL  for considering me to be supportive. If you have never visited Kelly's site, do not let the title of his blog make you assume it's all zany and surreal humour.  No, there is so much more to Kelly and he has written some of the finest postings I have ever had the privilege of reading.  Thank you Kelly and thank you for your support.

Now the rules state that I am supposed to forward this award onto five bloggers that I consider exemplify support to their fellow bloggers.  However and I think you will understand, I am going to pass on this award to just one blogger.  A blogger who is going through a very tough time and has displayed remarkable support to me and other bloggers.  A blogger who could easily find excuses to be negative, yet is resilient, strong and determined to embrace the power of positivity.
I dedicate this award to an amazing lady and a dear friend.  I would kindly ask you to visit my dear friend's site and show her support and encouragement during a time of sorrow, a time of mixed emotions and yet a time of poignant celebration. You can visit Heather' site at the following location,  Soundoff   Dear Heather, and in the memory of the man you love, this award is dedicated to you.

  5. Dear Gary,
Firstly, apologies to you for my not commenting on your previous post.
But, congrats, my friend (hirsute or otherwise), on receiving this much-deserved award. I know how much time you spend supporting others in the blogging world, even up to the point of your own exhaustion. It is nice and only fitting that you have been recognised in this way, then, and your kindness and encouragement to others is an inspiration.
Also, sincere condolences to you on the loss of your close friend, and to Heather on the loss of her loved one. I hope that she, too, can find some solace in the support you continue to give her.
    Here's to you, Gary,
With Very Best Wishes from your pal,
    David.

  13. Dear David,
David, it's always an honour to receive a comment from your good self. No need to apologise for not replying on my previous posting.
Thanks for the congrats. I do spend a great deal of time attempting to be proactive and supportive on other sites. And to those I haven't been around too or overlooked, I'm sorry but I do endeavour to eventually get there. And yes, I can get exhausted from doing so much commenting. Still, when we have touched the hearts of others, the exhaustion is more than worth it.
I am sincerely grateful to have received this meaningful award. I do think that we can be an inspiration to each other.
This is sad and reflective time. Yet amongst the sadness is a joyful celebration for an inspirational man and his dear loving wife. She knows, through these raw and painful times, as a friend, I shall do my utmost to support her.
Thanks David and here's to you, my dear friend.
    In kindness, Gary.

Thank you kindly for the congratulations. It's very much appreciated.
I know that this was a fitting and poignant tribute to a fellow blogger and a close, personal friend. If this award and recognition gives her a modicum of comfort, then that is cause for a gentle smile.
Thank you and I have had a quick check of your blog and it is indeed most thoughtful and very well written articulation.
    In peace and positivity, Gary.

  15. Hi bazza,
Sir, you are too kind to shy and humble me. As you may well know, I do not seek fame and rather enjoy being unknown. I'm a 'well-kept secret', I state, ever so modestly.
Seriously, thank you for your compliment and I'm honoured to interact with a chap like you who writes one of the most informative blogs out there.
    Take care, Gary.

'I just want to thank the blogging academy...' :)

  23. Hi Gary .. I was so sad to read Heather's blog .. but I am so pleased you were there for that short time - that made such a difference to both of them and to you.

She sounds an incredible lady .. and as you say there is so much support in this blogging world, let alone the physical one we belong to ..

Your award is absolutely right .. my thoughts go out to her .. especially in these early dark days - though as she says she can feel Wayne will with her ..

Great post - thank you for sharing .. Hilary

  26. Hi Hilary,
I was honoured and inspired to have been able to spend those precious moments with the both of them. I know that we shall cherish those times with great fondness and a touch of sadness, forever.
Hilary, we have witnessed the great blogging community at its finest, most supportive and most caring. This is most heart warming and encouraging.
Forwarding this award onto Heather and in the memory of her beloved husband Wayne, did indeed, seem like the fitting thing to do.
And thus, may Heather feel a modicum of comfort, as the finer aspects of humanity, come shining through.
    Thank you, Hilary.
Much respect and appreciation, your way, Gary.

  29. Gar, you EMBODY the definition of the word "supportive." You, sir, have a heart made of gold, diamonds, kindness, love, humor, and chocolate (because chocolate is also a really great thing). Congrats on this award...you totally deserve it, eh? Way to go, hoser!

  30. Another beautiful post and congrats on your award.

Though I find blogging to sometimes be a chore, I know I would be lost without my special blogger friends and followers.

They are so supportive and caring. It never fails to bring a smile to my face when one leaves even the shortest of comments.

Just knowing they are there makes feel better and skipping around to each blog and reconnecting helps me stay focused.

Wow, you are way too kind to me :) I do endeavour to visit and support lots of blogs. Oh, it might be a while before I get round to some blogs, but I do try to get there, eventually.
And chocolate, ah yes, I've now got this urge to cover myself in chocolate syrup, eh :)
Thanks for the congrats on the award. Take off eh, you hoser!
Kind wishes and some British chocolate, your way, Gary :)

  33. Hi Nancy,
Thank you very much for the congrats. Much appreciated.
For sure, sometimes blogging can be rather exhausting. In fact, it has been a bit too much, at times. I realised that some days I was spending over eight hours just commenting on mine and others blogs. It's trying to find the right balance.
Still, the positive interaction and the good natured banter certainly makes it seem worthwhile. There's a lot to be said for the finer aspects of the great blogging community. I feel privileged to be a part of it all and have good folks such as yourself, interact with me.
Hope you are having a lovely day in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
    Take good care, Gary.

You would be a very rich man if they started handed out awards with cash prizes. Whilst me, I'm rich in the wonders of being a part of a great blogging community :)
Cheers Lee and have a peaceful weekend.

  42. No problem, Gary, my friend, for responding, via post, to the award. Hell, I feel kinda guilty for not being around more these days. I tell you what, dude... Your words of support and understanding helps me with the tough times so anytime I can recognize that kind of support from you or the rare cases I get it from people who are actually around me- I consider it a gift. We all need support. Even those of us who say they don't. I may joke around quite a bit, but showing you care about somebody enough to interact with them through lengthy emails or in other meaningful ways is something that must be commended and pointed out. Also: Thanks for the shout out and what you said about me and the blog.

Sorry for being so sappy this time around. I'll try being my usual sarcastic, crazy self next time. Tee hee. Take care, Gary and don't do anything I wouldn't do.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Hey Kelly,
As you will realise, I wasn't aware of you so kindly forwarding this award onto me until after the fact. I wasn't much into a routine when I was over in Canada.
Dude, I reckon we all need to take a break from the blogging world, every once in a while. I'm delighted when you are around and also delighted that you are out doing other things.
I was truly grateful for receiving this award from you. I know that the support, encouragement and interaction has been of value to us both. So, I'm very glad that I can be of support to you and to others. As we both know, it's not just here in blogland, but through other forms of communication that have been vital to our mental health well being. I'm a big believer in the power of genuine empathy.
And yep, you do like to joke around. And, I'm always into some good natured banter. Yet, we both know, beyond the jokes, you are a kind and caring man. I mean all of what I typed.
Gosh, now I've gone all mushy. We really need to get back to being our usual, lovable sarcastic selves. We both realise how vitally important our blogs, our words of wisdom, are to our zillions of adoring fans, on this planet, on Mars and of course, Uranus :)
    Peace man and thanks.
    Gary

  44. Talking about supporting each other, I'm reminded of the garden that you have which has been a litter palace for those naughty kitties. I happened to be reading something about orange peels and found that you can use scatter them in your garden to scare those cats away. Apparently the cat species hates the smell of orange oil. I hope this will make your garden cat-poo-free! :) Give Penny a nice scratch on her tummy will you. Me thinks she's lovely and her owner is such an awesome writer who can't ever be compared to Mr Landesman!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Hey Shanaz,
I do appreciate your support and your kitty cat advice. Sadly, I have tried the orange peel trick, all to no avail. Turns out the local cats like oranges and orangeade. Funny that, because I heard that cats like lemonade and lemons are sour. Thus a cat that likes lemonade would be a 'sour puss'.
Anyhow, I'm delighted to inform you that the cats are no longer a nuisance and no longer shitting in my vegetable patch. Thank you, 'Scarecat' :)
I shall indeed give Penny a scratch on her tummy. Of course, I shall have to wait until she has stopped signing autographs for her adoring fans.
And you're just too kind in regards to my writing. Truth be known, it's Penny that has taught me my limited writing prowess. Sorry about your excruciating experience attempting to read the works of that alleged author.
    Take care, eh
    Gary :)
